Overview
Platinum Components is a multi-million pound turnover European components distributor. Their sales model is built around customer-specific pricing and regular wholesales/distribution pricing access rather than a public online shop.
The Challenge
The business previously relied on manually sending daily pricebook emails to customers across Europe. This created several challenges:
- Pricing data was often outdated by the time customers received it
- No visibility into who was actually checking the pricebooks
- Manual admin workload for the internal team
- No structured way to identify engaged vs inactive customers
- Limited ability to integrate pricing data into customer procurement systems
The Solution
We designed and implemented a secure, automated Pricebook Distribution Platform. The platform automatically extracts pricing and stock data from their central database and generates a unique pricebook per customer. Each customer receives a dedicated secure link that updates hourly, ensuring they always see accurate:
- Stock levels and product availability
- Customer-specific markups and sell prices
- Email and WhatsApp nudges
- Detailed engagement reporting
The system supports both browser access and automated integrations via URL and API-compatible requests.
The Outcome
Real-Time Pricing Visibility
Customers now access live pricing and stock data updated every hour, improving accuracy and reducing delays in purchasing decisions.
Measurable Customer Engagement
For the first time, Platinum Components can see which customers are actively checking pricebooks, frequency of access, and engagement trends over time.
Operational Efficiency
Manual daily email processes were eliminated, saving 5–10 hours per week in manual dispatch.
Integration-Ready for B2B Automation
Customers can now automatically pull pricing into their own systems, supporting modern procurement workflows across Europe.
